An unstructured six-panel in washed cotton twill — no buckram, no stiff front, so it creases the way a cap should once you have worn it a few times. The wordmark runs the full width of the front panels, which means the embroidery crosses a seam: the machine has to be re-hooped and the thread tension dropped for those few centimetres, and it is the part of the job that cannot be rushed. Brass slider at the back, cotton sweatband, and a curved visor pre-broken by hand in the workshop so it arrives already shaped.
The story
“Di World Dance Master” is the name Kriptic has carried across twenty-six countries, and the patois article is not decoration: “Di” is how the title is said where the dance comes from, so that is how it is embroidered. Wearing a name is a claim, which is why this one is a working name rather than a slogan. It was earned in rooms, not written for a label.
