The heaviest thing we make, and the one that comes back least often: 400 gsm brushed fleece, 85 % organic cotton to 15 % recycled polyester, a double-layer hood that actually holds its shape and ribbed cuffs that grip the wrist instead of sliding down mid-move. Two techniques share the garment. The chest wordmark is embroidered, roughly eleven thousand stitches, worked through a cut-away backing so the fleece cannot pull it out of square. The sleeve figure is flocked, matte, deliberately softer than the thread so your eye goes to the chest first. Both are done in our Paris workshop, in the same room, on the same day.
The story
Bogle built the Willie Bounce in 2004, in memory of his friend Donovan “Willie Haggart” Bennett, and it went on to become one of the most widely danced steps Jamaica has produced. Knowing that changes how you do it: the shoulders roll, the hips answer, and the step is a tribute before it is anything else. It is the one move we ask you never to perform without saying whose name it carries.
