Embroidered thread in the same colour as the fleece: the design is there in relief, catching the light, and invisible from the far side of a room. It is the most demanding job we ask of the machine, because tone-on-tone hides nothing — every skipped stitch shows as a shadow. Fourteen thousand stitches across the back, one pass, no shortcuts. The body is 380 gsm brushed fleece with a slightly longer cut than the Willie Bounce, so it stays put when you raise your arms, and a hood lining in the same fabric rather than a thinner one.
The story
Rub-a-Dub is the early-1980s way of being on a dance floor: slow, close, weight on the back foot, two people sharing one bassline rather than performing at each other. No single dancer owns it — it belongs to the sound systems and to the rooms they filled. A design you can only read up close felt like the honest way to put that era on a garment.
